Wisconsin Dells
The Wisconsin Dells, located in south-central Wisconsin and about 30 minutes southeast of Mauston is just a short day-trip away. With a population of about 2,600 this small community packs a big punch. It occupies land in four counties: Adams, Columbia, Juneau, and Sauk.
The Wisconsin River is breathtaking in this part of the state, most notably because of the outcroppings called the Dells. This scenic, glacially formed gorge features striking sandstone formations along the banks of the Wisconsin River.
Looking to do some shopping? Here it is just 30 minutes away... There is an outlet mall with some of America's best known brands that can be bought for a fraction of the price. You'll also find lots of little boutique stores that have a variety of things for everyone.
The Wisconsin Dells area has become well known to tourists starting with the original Duck boat rides, boat rides looking at the scenic beauty and more recently known for their waterparks. This area has many indoor and outdoor waterparks, proclaiming itself the “Waterpark Capital of the World”. Other attractions include boat tours, ziplining, golf courses, mini golf, go-kart tracks, water sports, horseback riding, a water ski show known as the Tommy Bartlett’s Thrill Show, museums, amusement parks, and a casino.
So head on down for a day of crazy, busy fun with our neighbors to the south and then come back to the Greater Mauston to reconnect and relax! Taking in the sights and activities of both towns will balance that getaway, so you return home feeling refreshed and happy.
